How many characters can you see ?
I can see 5 characters in the first picture and 3 in the second picture.
Can you imagine the relationship between them ?
I think the boys are friends.
II Read the story and answer these questions
1) Can you make a list of the characters and say who there are ?
Billy, who is the hero of the story, his friends, Mr Hoskey, who is the "bad", the wife of Mr Hoskey: Mrs Hoskey, Felix, a friend of Billy; the mother of Felix; the mother of Billy; and a policeman.
2) Who is telling the story ?
Billy is telling the story.
3) There are three parts in the story. What is the setting for each of them ?
Mr Hoskey has to go to prison and the other characters have nothing.
4)How did Billy get "a bit of bread and jam" ?
He did the shopping of Mrs Hoskey.
5)What did he do with it ?
He put a small piece on to his hook.
6) Why did his friend are surprised ?
Because he caught a carp.
III Read thes sentences and match one sentences from the first column with one sentence from the second column.
When Billy's mother saw her son, ------->she put her arms around him.
The policeman saw that Billy's mother was frightened : ------> he calmed her down.
Mr Hoskey was worrying about Billy ------> Mr Hoskey needn't worrying about him (je pense que c'est pas ça...)
Billy never ate the sandwich -----> because he knew there was arsenic in the bread.
Mr Hoskey couldn't stand Mrs Hoskey any more -----> he prefered the prison to his wife (celle-là aussi je ne suis pas sûre)

Justify your answer
Because Billy could have died.
3) Can you find another title for it ?
Poison and fish. (parce qu'en français ça fait Poison et poisson xD)
